‘Kiss’ riles and rallies students, parents

To Audrey Jess, her shining moment arrived when the curtain rolled up on her short play “Offsides.” She wrote, cast and directed the play, performed at Stone Bridge High School last weekend, which explores a young man’s realization that he is gay. It also explores intolerance.

On Tuesday night, Jess stood before the Loudoun County School Board to explain that her play was not promoting homosexuality. Nearly 50 of her classmates came along to offer moral support and applause for her short speech.
