The Loudoun County School Board is considering a new policy governing school plays, part of a continuing wave of reaction to the performance of a student-written piece featuring a gay protagonist at Stone Bridge High School in February.
The play, “Offsides,” about a popular football player struggling to deal with his homosexuality, sparked an angry response from some parents, led by state Del. Richard H. “Dick” Black (R-Loudoun), who said it promoted a “homosexual lifestyle.”
