Responding to allegations made by Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio (R-Sterling) that county schools are promoting a “political agenda,” Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services Douglas C. Holmes said that guidance counselors at Sterling Middle School are not introducing “sexual orientation” to students in an effort to combat bullying.
“Guidance counselors are not introducing the concept of sexual orientation to students at any grade level,” Holmes wrote in a memo to School Superintendent Edgar B. Hatrick. “It is not part of the general guidance program, nor is it a component of the bullying prevention efforts in the Loudoun County Public Schools.”
